Give It Up For Gwen Stefani And The L.A.M.B. Clothing Line
There isn't a fashionista out there who hasn't heard of the Gwen Stefani clothing line L.A.M.B. L.A.M.B. stands "love. angel. music. baby." Gwen Stefani started her fashion clothing line in 2003 and debuted it in 2004. Her fashion is most often described as being influenced by different fashion cultures including Japanese, Indian and Jamaican.
The L.A.M.B. fashion line is quite interesting in that it has pieces that would appeal to a middle-aged woman as well as pieces that would appeal to much younger women. Stefani's skirts, the Bubble Skirt, Sailor Skirt and Pleat Front Skirt appear rather run of the mill. However her pants, the Double "L" Leggings, Slim Cuffed Pant, High Waist Jean and Slim Bubble Pant are definitely for younger women. She has a pattern called Jungle Intarsia which is gray black and white and looks almost zebra like. Of course there is a wide range of very popular hoodies and graphic tees in the L.A.M.B. fashion line as well her lesser priced Harajuku Lovers line. The Harajuku line is much younger, hipper and more casual.
Gwen Stefani's other fashion line is called Harajuku Lovers, which is also the name of one of her songs. Harajuku Lovers is a fashion line launched by Stefani in 2005 and is based on Gwen Stefani's Japanese back-up dancers. This line is focused to appeal to Gwen Stefani's fan base and the L.A.M.B. fashion line is meant to have a broader appeal.
Stores like Bloomingdales and Nordstrom sell a small amount of clothing from The L.A.M.B. fashion line that have much more mass appeal.
L.A.M.B. foot ware is available for women, men and infants. Some of these women's shoes would not have mass appeal. She has clogs called Euclid and boots called Chartres. The Oxford Pumps are very fashionable as are her many fashion pumps. The price of her foot ware line is one criticism of the L.A.M.B. clothing line overall. Pumps and wedges run in the $300 price range and her coats in the $500 price range.
The L.A.M.B. fashion line has expanded into shoes, watches and now fragrances. The fragrance "L" was debuted in September of 2007. Stefani worked very closely with American Fragrances in designing the bottle and the scent which is a blend of white freesia, hyacinth, violet, fresh pear, rose, jasmine, sweat pea, lily, orange blossom, peach, heliotrope, musk and frangipani. The scent is described as a "luscious floral scent that bursts." Gwen Stefani is planning to expand the L.A.M.B. line to include make-up products as well.
